La Granja del Mercadito de Lola: a model farm in the production of food without chemicals.

This guatemlalan farm that emerged from a family project working in organic regenerative agriculture will participate in the AgriExpo Agrícola Orgánico 2021.

La Granja del Mercadito de Lola is a space that works on the production of food without chemicals and organic regenerative agriculture. It started and was consolidated from a family project started by Manuel -the family’s grandfather- and where Lola Molina, together with her husband, Edgar, are currently in charge of production. This November 24 and 25, La Granja del Mercadito de Lola, will participate in the AgriExpo Agrícola Orgánico 2021 that will take place virtually.

Returning to the family project, it includes her children Luis and Caliche. The first, supports them with visits and periodic consultancies based on his knowledge as an Agronomist at U Earth; while the second is in charge of the commercial section from his studies in Public Relations in Palermo, Argentina.

Among the productions carried out on the farm we can find: cow’s milk, goat’s milk, patio eggs and their respective derivatives. To learn much more about them, they can access their social networks on Facebook and Instagram “la Granja del Mercadito de Lola”.

Farm beginnings

The project began as a traditional dairy cattle rancher in 2006 and over time they made a change to work from the production chain to sale to the public in order to be self-sustaining as well as profitable. Likewise, focusing on agriculture, but looking for profitability and promotion of conscious foods to the final consumer, that is, making the complete turn towards a regenerative farm.
